Kinich School and Our Learning System

We are a completely virtual elementary and middle school; we were born to cater to future education needs. For this reason, we do not have a physical campus.

The Kinich School headquarters are located in Texas, U.S.

Our school covers Elementary and Middle School, or 1st to 9th grade.

At this time, we do not have options for preschoolers or high schoolers.

Kinich School is a schooling system. We do not give courses, we don’t have an open school modality, do not offer school options for adults, we don’t have classes on weekends, and do not validate education with exams.

Our school is aimed at students between 7 and 15 years old.Currently, we do not have educational options for people over 15 years old or adults.

Kinich School is an accredited school in Texas, USA. This allows to revalidate the student’s academic transcript in over 85 countries around the world.

At the end of the school year, you can request the transcript and do the school revalidation process at the Secretaria de Educación Pública in México.

The revalidation process is entirely personal; it must be done by families at the Secretaria de Educación of the state in which they reside. Each procedure will be different depending on the state’s rules and procedures.

Kinich School is an entirely virtual and bilingual school; classes are held from the Knotion® educational platform and through Zoom®.

We use multiple teaching methodologies to ensure each student’s learning, such as Projects and Challenges Based Learning; Learning through Play, Personalized Approach, and Transversality.

We have highly qualified academic coaches to guide learning during school hours. We carry out different school activities to develop academic, social-emotional, and technological skills in students.

Classes are entirely dynamic and active, in which the student is the center of learning.

The coaches communicate with students through Zoom and use the Knotion Platform on the iPad to guide the classes.

During a school day, the academic coaches make sure to do activities in which the students actively participate and interact with each other, doing collaborative activities or using technology and other materials.

Kinich School is an entirely bilingual school, so students must have a minimum language level.

While the level of English increases relative to grade level, it is essential that students can understand and communicate in English effectively.

Sometimes students will be required to complete challenges and projects that may require activities after school hours.

The Elementary School schedule will depend on the experience chosen by the family:

During the day, students at Kinich Global have two blocks of a maximum of 3 hours each and a lunch break of 40 minutes.

Kinich Ed’s students only connect for three hours in the morning. This experience is only available for elementary school.

An Apple iPad®. The platform that supports our curriculum only works with the latest IOS update.

The average life of an iPad® is 3-5 years. The Knotion Platform, our curriculum, and our apps DO NOT work with Android or Windows systems; therefore, a different device cannot be used.

The academic resources to work on each subject are fully loaded on the iPad platform.

Coaches will request basic school supplies in advance so that both students and parents prepare for classes.

In Elementary School, specific workbooks are used by grade, in English and Spanish so that children can work on their activities. The cost of each workbook is already included in the monthly tuition.

This will depend on the model and generation of your iPad. If the iPad is 6th, 7th, and 8th generation, you can use them with prior confirmation from our TI team.

If the family decides to use their own iPad, they will have to send it to Kinichs’s School TI team so that the educational platform, apps, and school manager can be placed.

If you want protection insurance for your device, you must purchase directly with Apple®

The tablet will be one of the most essential tools in their education; its use will be personal and require that each child have their own.

We carry out comprehensive assessments that allow us to have a complete picture of each student’s academic and personal growth.

The final notes for every student are obtained according to three types of evaluations:

Diagnostic Assessment:

  • It has the purpose of recognizing the educational level and scope that the student has concerning its previous learning. This assessment allows the coach to identify the strengths and areas for improvement of each student.

Formative Assessments:

  • Evaluations based on the level of development of the student’s competencies and progress through rubrics allow us to recognize if the student’s knowledge is significant and to what extent it is helpful for their educational journey.

Summative Assessments:

  • These are commonly known as “grades,” related to a numerical value awarded at the end of each academic challenge.

Each month there are different activities to encourage interaction between students.

  • Kinich culture meetings with the whole school.
  • Visit of special guests: Nat Geo, Museo Materia, Unreasonable México.
  • School festivals on different dates: Day of the Dead, Winter, Day of love and friendship, among others.

We also have activities for parents and guardians:

  • Parent-coach conferences
  • Theme cafes once a month

Workshops on topics of general interest.

Virtual Education

Sure! Virtual education accompanied by an academic coach allows students to learn and practice intellectual and social skills, achieve specific goals, and pursue their interests or passions. All of this is essential for optimal performance in academic life or in the workplace.

Yes, of course! During a school day, the academic coaches make sure to do activities where the students actively participate and interact with each other by doing collaborative activities.

The time connected to class will depend on the academic grade in which the student is, ranging between 3 and 6 hours a day.

Each student will learn to use an Apple iPad®, where they will successfully complete their studies at our school.

During the induction week, you will receive guidance on the apps and tools students will use throughout the school year.
